Sungai Chilling waterfall is located at 1h30 from Kuala Lumpur near to Fraser’s hill; this is the closest place from kuala lumpur to enjoy the preserved wildlife of the rainforest. In 1992 a road has been built in the middle of the jungle to reach the top of Fraser’s hills, one of the last British city of Malaysia. Also, this is here where has been built the first golf of Malaysia at the beginning of the century. Since thennothing has change, the place and the road, which gives a panoramic view, stand very quiet. This is a really peaceful place far fromthe noise of the city, recommended for the weekend.
In order to reach this impressive waterfall of 80m high, we need to take the road to Kuala Kupu Bharu, and then fallow the road direction Fraser’s hills. The place is still authentic and wild so this is quite common to meet wild animals like monkeys.
The trek start with a charming little bridge crossing the rivers where Malays people come to swim and having lunch, it continues during 50 minutes where you can observe different type of species orchids, bamboo, tree fern, carnivorous plan, butterflies, monkeys and other numbers of species. Along the ascension you will cross the river five times but there is no bridge, so this is important to take the right equipment like swimsuit, another pair of dry shoes and dry clothes. Once you reach the waterfall this is time for lunch and a nap before to go back. If you want to it is also possible to swim in the waterfalls..
The fishing state department of Selengor has set up a program for the protection of the wildlife and more especially for the protection of a rare species of fish, the Tengas.
The perfect place to go for the modern Indiana jones that we are.
